  THE BEST INDIAN FOOD!! I cannot believe it took me so long to find this gem of a restaurant. If you're looking for home cooked, authentic, truly exceptional food, go to Ancila's. She is such a sweet lady and treats you like you're a member of her family. We drive over an hour to eat her amazing food and always leave her restaurant satisfied. I love this place!!

  In town for business, wanting to avoid the hotel restaurant. Looked it up and tried it. Had to wait (call ahead next time). Had a vegetarian colleague from southern India. She made us an eggplant dish and a paneer dish - slightly sour, slightly sweet, lots of onion and chilis. Amazing. Decided we are going back tomorrow night too. And will call ahead. She's extremely friendly and got to know our tastes and heat level. (7!) Worth eating there.

  We have lived near this restaurant and have never frequented it ... probably because the decor and atmosphere are not very welcoming. Let me tell you that we tried it finally and were regretful that we had not been there before. Lovely host, food made absolutely fresh (the crunch was still in the onions and ginger) and best of all it it was such a delightful experience ... very personal and inviting. If you try it phone ahead and plan your menu or just be content to sit patiently and wait. I was going to give Ancila's 4 stars because the atmosphere is lacking and chairs were a bit uncomfortable ... but maybe then it wouldn't be such a great find. Sometimes simplicity is underrated.
