I played some board games here and the atmosphere was great. The lower level area has a cozy feel and the waitress kept up well with the very large group. Drink prices are a bit high, but not out of line with the area. Highly recommend a visit.
Yet another Seattle institution with great beer selection and perfect bar food. Great place to hang out either for a lunch, just beer or dinner. Spacious interior with simple decor relies on the brew and the crowd. My Salad was terrific and my colleague noted that his Berger and fries were just made to his taste. For meat lovers, perfection is the key, and they nailed it at Elysian. Perfect place for beer, that’s any day or season.
Delicious beer! Always rotating their taps. They are quick to greet you and very attentive. I has the porter, the mens room(red), the raspberry gose, and the winter. A flight of 4 is only 10 bucks!
After hearing lots of hype about this place, I finally checked it out and was not impressed. The ESB beer I had was fine I guess (I don't know much about local beer). The service was lousy. We got our food fairly quickly, but the servers were not friendly and seemed completely uninterested in their jobs. The person I was eating with ordered a salad and the cooks forgot to put dressing on it. I had the burger and it was pretty underwhelming--bland and so juicy it was hard to hold in my hands. The fries were actually pretty good though. I will say I did kind of like the whole atmosphere. Coming from the suburbs, Capitol Hill can feel really claustrophobic, even on a weeknight when I was there, but this place was actually pretty comfortable. I liked the big, spacious booths and the sort of woodsy, rustic look--and everything seemed pretty clean. Although I won't bother returning here given the lousy service and the disappointing food.
Great beer and fabulous fare. Thought I might try a flight to taste test several, but my server suggested something perfect.
